Prof. Ala’a H. Al-Muhtaseb is a Professor in the Department of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. His research is centred on sustainability and the environment, supported by significant industry-funded projects. His work covers waste valorization, circular economy, sustainable fuels, biohydrogen, biochar, wastewater treatment, and life cycle assessment (LCA), offering integrated solutions for the GCC energy transition and the UN SDGs.

Prof. Dr. Sabu Thomas is a globally recognized scientist and academic leader with over 35 years of service at Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kottayam, Kerala, India. He currently serves as Chairman of the Trivandrum Engineering Science & Technology Research Park (TrEST) and Director of the School of Energy Materials, the School of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, and the International and Inter-University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.

With a PhD in Environmental Engineering, I have 12 years of post-graduate experience related to water and wastewater treatment projects. I have designed, installed, tested, commissioned, and troubleshoot several treatment plants. Moreover, I worked on projects involving a water supply network, sewerage network, solid waste management system, and stormwater drainage systems.
