I am Dr. Maruthappan Manikandan, currently working as Proactive Strategy Research employee in Department of Physics and Materials Science, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, Chaing Mai, Thailand from 2023 to till date. I have an academic background in Physics combined with a practical work experience in Materials Science.  My research interests mainly focus on material science, specifically on crystal growth, Thinfilms and energy storage materials. I had four years of Postdoctoral Research experience in China. I have completed my Postdoctoral positions at Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter Chinese Academy of Sciences (FJIRSM-CAS), Fuzhou, China (July 2014 – April 2016) and Henan Normal University, Xinxiang, China (Nov. 2019 – Nov. 2021). During these periods, I have experienced in the development of metal organic frameworks (MOF) and their metal oxide composite nanostructures for the energy storage applications. Also, I have experience in molecular design for the perovskite’s material and phase transition materials and synthesis of dielectric ceramic materials. Also, I was granted a President’s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) postdoctoral scholarship from Chinese Academy of Science (CAS). I have been published several national and international articles in peer reviewed research journals and participated in various international and national conferences and seminars.

He joined the editorial board of Climate-Adaptive Materials Engineering on September 15, 2025, as an editorial member.
