Dr. Zakiyyu Ibrahim Takai, was born on 1st March 1986 in Kano State, Nigeria. He hails from Kofar Nassarawa Mubi, in Kano Municipal Local Government Area of Kano State, Nigeria. He began his primary education by attending Kwalli Special Primary School Mubi Kano State, Nigeria. He later proceeded for junior secondary education at College of Quranic Studies Kano State and subsequently senior secondary education at Dawakin Kudu Science College, Dawakin Kudu Local Government, Kano State.  He obtained his Bachelors of Science (B.Sc) degree in Physics at Kano State University of Science and Technology Wudil, Kano State, Nigeria and graduated with Second Class upper in the year 2012.  Upon graduation, he embarked on a compulsory one-year national service, also known as, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) where he taught Physics at Government College Afibo, Afibo local Government Area, Ebonyi State Nigeria between 2012 to 2013 and then he was offered full-time employment as a Graduate Assistant at Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano, Nigeria in 2013. He then secured Kano State Oversea Scholarship to pursue his Master’s in India at lovely Professional University India (LPU) and also graduated with First Division in 2016.  He proceeded immediately for his PhD. Nanoscience and Nanotechnology program at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) Parit Raja, Batu Pahat, Malaysia in July, 2017. He is a recipient of publications in international journals and conference proceedings and has served in various capacities at international conferences. His research interests include fabrication and analysis of materials, radiation shielding glass, sensors and biosensors
