Dr. Ali Moghassemi received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the Islamic Azad University, South Tehran Branch, Tehran, Iran, in 2012 and 2015, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Clemson University, Clemson, SC, USA, in 2025. He was the recipient of two Outstanding Graduate Researcher Awards in 2025: one from the Holcombe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (department-wide) and another from Clemson University (university-wide). He is currently a Research Scientist at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, as well as two book chapters and one book. His research interests include modeling, simulation, and control of power electronic converters for renewable energy systems, electrified transportation, and custom power devices. He also serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals and conferences.

He joined the editorial board of Smart Ship Technologies on August 11, 2025, as an editorial member.
