Alexandre Marco da Silva PhD, São Paulo State University (Unesp), Sorocaba, Brazil
Alexandre Marco da Silva holds a bachelor’s degree in Ecology from São Paulo State University (Unesp – Brazil), a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP – Brazil), a Doctorate in Environmental Engineering Sciences (USP), and a Post-Doctorate in Applied Ecology (USP). He completed two research internships in Environmental Sciences at the National Soil Erosion Research Laboratory – West Lafayette, USA (January to March 2010 and June to August 2014), two research internships at Écologie Fonctionnelle Biogéochimie des Sols des Agro-Écosystèmes – IRD – Montpellier, France (June to August 2012 and June to August 2016), and a research internship at the Department of Geography of the University of Valencia, Spain (January to March 2019). He is currently a Full Professor (MS-6.0) in the Department of Environmental Engineering at the Institute of Science and Technology of Sorocaba (Unesp), Brazil. His interests include the development of technologies aimed at solving environmental problems, with an emphasis on the rehabilitation of degraded areas, nature-based solutions, biophilic designs, conservationist soil and water management, restoration and applied ecology, and geoprocessing (GIS). He also maintains a continued interest in integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into research, teaching, and outreach projects.

He joined the editorial board of Transnational Supply Chain Research on September 30, 2025, as an editorial member.
